Anxiety

These days there are well-documented methods of treating anxiety, both psychotherapeutic and medicinal.

Fear or anxiety
Unlike fear, which is short-lived and a reaction to a real and actual danger, anxiety is more protracted and it is not clear what the person is actually afraid of. Anxiety is an irrational perception of danger that frequently stems from a person's internal experiences.

In general, it can be said that if you have been hindered for a longer period in doing things you normally do because of mental distress caused by anxiety responses then you have an anxiety disorder.

A human phenomenon
The boundary for when anxiety becomes a disorder and a problem varies from person to person. It depends on your network and the protective factors around you, as well as what is required of you as, for example, student, partner, parent, employee or boss.
